Team Hawaii's record falls in the Around The Island OC6 Changes Race Hong Kong

Records smashed in the Tommy Bahama's 2012 Around The Island OC6 Changes Race - Team Hawaii's record falls - Was it the conditions, the new lightweight unlimited Pura canoes or the crews determination and training? You decide.

Time for a revisit Hawaii, snatch back the record.

All the Unlimited's there now call Hong Kong home:-)

The Unlimited's are changing the OC world one canoe at a time, country by country. Respect for the canoe remains unchanged.

Please forgive the shaky footage, i shot it from a 12ft rubber duckie boat.

How many boats were entered? It looked like a lot more than the 3 or 4 that I saw when we had a crew from Hawaii go over the first time in 05?. Very cool race, and even better experience. Nice to see it still growing.

25 total entries in the Hong Kong ATIR. Considering Hamilton Is Cup only had 34 crews for 2012 that's an awesome result.

Good going to big Rob Kaiwai and the boys! Though the new record should be for unlimited division only, hard to compare with Team Hawaii's record in a stock canoe. Time for us to go back and set things right!

I'm surprised any records fell after the party the night before following the OC1 and ski event... Good footage Rambo. Will we see you at Coffs?

Super cool video,

I know its off topic but what kind of camera is that?

Yes time to go back to Hong Kong Team Hawaii...before Tahiti does.

Not at Coffs Trev, but will be at 20 Beaches next week and The Doctor.

Kawaisurf85, there is a tip at 4mins 35secs into the video, big blue neon sign on the building in the back ground. Apart from that, if I told you I would then have to feed you to the sharks off Kawai...haha. It's a Rambo refined mash- up, bit of this,, bit of that, stripped down to fit into carry-on luggage. One-off, If I drop it overboard the boat driver gets the same shark treatment outlined above :-)
