Maine Outrigger / Surfski Championships to be held in the beautiful Casco Bay region of the central Maine coast , one of the worlds most beautiful coastlines. The format for the race will be point to point , downwind or “downeast” as they say around here. The course will be 15 miles long . This race is destined to be come a classic. If it`s hot where you live in June come to Maine and cool off. The race T shirts are really cool and the prize table at the finish line will have lots of unique stuff from Hawaii. Entry fee: $50. 300 paddlers from Hong Kong, Singapore, Palau, Japan, Guam, Australia, and the CNMI are expected to compete. Distances are 500m, 1500m, and long distance.
The Micronesian Cup is an annual outrigger paddling event and eight-year tradition bringing together teams spanning the Pacific. After a spectualar event in Guam last year, the Micronesian Cup is returning to Saipan, and we’re looking to making this one the biggest and best cup yet!

RIO VA’A 2006 - 6th edition - South American venue of the international Va’a Circuit
South American venue of the World Va’a long distance circuit.
Location: Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
Events:
- short distance races: V1 2000m, V2 2000m;
- V6 iron long distance (28 km) along Rio de Janeiro’s famous beaches: Copacabana, Arpoador, Ipanema, Leblon and around Suggar Loaf and into Guanabara Bay.
History: Event organized on an annual basis by Rio Va’a Club since 2001, starting with the Rio to Angra dos Reis long distance crossing (125 km non stop).
