Wow! Three races completed in the ECORA OC-1/2 series so far and great weather for each one. Hopefully the streak will continue.
Results from the second ECORA one-man series race, Buckroe Beach Dash or Splash in Hampton, VA held on May 13, 2006. The Dash or Splash is an 8K run and a 7 mile OC-1/OC-2 race. They are separate events so you don't have to do both races but we usually have several hardy paddlers who do the 8K run and the canoe race. The race proceeds are donated to Disabled Sports USA Wounded Warrior Program. DS/USA.

What a way to start off the East Coast Outrigger Racing Association OC-1/2 season!
Gray over hanging clouds and cool showers threatened early and then the sun busted a move to melt away the long winter.
The crew from Washington Canoe Club did it right. They put on a great race and provided some good post-race beer and grinds.
Many Mahalos to Mitch, Amy Potter and the rest of the WCC paddlers, for taking such good care of us.

Race 4 and 5 were completed with competition getting tighter than ever.

Sunday 26th February dawned in Treasure Island, Florida with a cold front rolling through. All paddlers were woken at dawn with lightning and thunder preceding the cold front and the squall line.... many paddlers decided that this was a day to stay off the water. However, I had been monitoring Windguru.com and they accurately predicted that the rain would stop by 9am and that the weather would start clearing by start time at 10am. Bulls eye !!
8K run and Outrigger/Surfski races are seperate events but participants can do both. Check out http://www.active.com/event_detail.cfm?event_id=1267521 for more information. All of the race proceeds will be donated to the Wounded Warrior Disabled Sports Project. This organization in conjunction with The Wounded Warrior Project provides sports rehabilitation programs for those service members who have received severe injuries, leading to a permanent disability, while fighting the Global War on Terrorism.
