Event Description

The Tauranga Harbour Challenge is now - the Waka Fest 2008 and it brings a 3 day event including:

  • W1 and Surfski Ocean Race
  • Harbour Challenge Race (Waka Ama and Surf Ski)
  • Waka Sevens team Relay
  • Key Speakers, Cash Prizes, Spot Prizes, Club Prizes and Entertainment

Training Program / Resource

Item Description

Hi am returning to OC1 training and racing after a 2 year layoff. i am 7 months away from my first target race which is 16km (10 miles). i have undergone a 5 month gym and cardio program so my general fitness is ok. Can anyone provide or advise me how to obtain a training program for this event.

Waiheke Hoe Waka Ama Club

Waiheke is a small island, population 7500, off the coast of NZ's biggest city, Auckland. We have awesome beaches, beautiful ocean and a core of enthusiastic and friendly paddlers, who use our 2 oc6's and an oc1 and oc2.
