Kaua'i World Challenge updates

For anyone going to the race.
The May 11 pre race dinner/paddlers meeting is back at the KILOHANA Carriage House (Gaylords) in LIHUE. Call Tom if you get lost - 6520406.
Also, if planning to enter the OC6 race on 5/13, off island teams need to bring a 6 man canoe or pre arrange with a local club BEFORE they arrive on Kaua'i. We have a limited number of 6 man canoes and don't want anyone to be disappointed. More at www.kauaiworldchallenge.com

Starbucks Maui to Moloka'i Challenge

The conditions this year had to have been one of the best yet. Not too BIG, not too small but just right. And; it filled in right on through to the finish line, no long hard flat, desert paddle at the end. It seemed too easy to many, “like we were cheating, riding so long, hardly paddling…”

Kai Wa’a and Smith Builders LLC race

Keanae – Kahului
April 21, 2007

[img:66237 n=4 size=200]The drive out to Keanae is always spectacular. This year, water fell everywhere due to some recent rain. Everything was lush, green and Maui. Trekking canoes to Keanae can be a little tricky due to the winding road. Paddlers car-pooled to get the most bodies and boats we have ever had for this race. We had 49 boats (more paddlers) and one stand-up paddler (Go Mark!).
