What the site is for…
To provide a single resource where paddlers from around the world can come to find the latest in upcoming races, race results, and issues surrounding outrigger paddling as well as a means for race organizers to easily distribute information.

Why another paddling site?

Exactly the reason to visit ocpaddler. It’s a key goal of the site to bring
all the outrigger info out there to one place for paddlers to see. If something
is worth reading (viewing or watching) you will find a link to it on ocpaddler.com.
And if you don’t see it on here, let
me know so we can post it up!

Feel free to email me; I try to reply to all emails. However, sometimes emails
get accidentally deleted as spam, and other times I am just plain busy or ‘offline’
for a while. Typically, if you don’t get a reply after a week or two,
email me again. If you have questions that other paddlers may be able to answer
please use the forum.

Contributing Content & News

Contributed news, photos, articles, videos, notices and just about anything
that has some relevance to the outrigger community is always welcome on OCPaddler.com.
This is a community based website; for paddlers, by paddlers. All contributions
can be sent to [email protected].

to the calendar.

OCPaddler.com is a dynamic and ever evolving community website. As registered

other paddlers on the forum, upload your favorite paddling photos to the community

How it started.

I (Keizo Gates) created OCPaddler.com in November of 2002 as a means to publish
a few articles on canoe repair my dad (Steven Gates)
had thought of writing. It really began as small curiosity into my interests
in website content management (and paddling ofcourse), but after realizing the
power of the system I soon declared the website ocpaddler.com.

What does ‘oc’ stand for?

Generally speaking, it is short for ‘Outrigger Canoe’, but it also could be online
canoe paddler, ocean canoe paddler, obsessive canoe paddler …
