RIP Rick Appleton
One of Guam's foremost paddlers and coaches passed away on Friday May 25, 2012. Rick was an exuberant promoter of paddling, introducing scores of people to outrigger canoeing on Guam. He was also a prominent race promoter, initiating the Heineken Cup on Guam in the mid 2000's and coordinating the MOC-1, Marianas OC-1 series of OC-1 and OC-2 races on Guam for the last 10 years. Rick will be sorely missed here on Guam and around the region, especially by his wife and family.
Te Aito Cook Islands - 26th May 2012
Not far away now until the third Te Aito Cook Islands...
It has just been announced that current Tahitian Champion Rete Ebb will be contesting this year's event in Rarotonga, Cook Islands.
Paddlers have already entered the 28km (14km for women and juniors) rudderless race from NZ, Australia, Cook Islands and Tahiti.

HOW TO MAKE SIMPLE AND CHEAP MOORINGS ??? We are looking for the best way to layout our marathon course.. Use concrete blocks ?? Any other way ? It is outside thereef in the deep. We dont want to leave them there. Take out after races. And whats a good and easy solution for the sprints ?
Savusavu Outrigger Cup 2011 Fiji
Event Description
Come to Fiji and compete with Fiji's best paddlers. Savusavu Outrigger Cup is on again in October. This is a three day event:
Day 1: 30km Marathon (open men/ masters) and 25 km (open woman/ masters) / Juniors 12 km
Day 2 Mixed Day: Marathon 19 km and V1 Relay Race.
Day 3: Sprint Races V6 (500m and 1500m) and V1.
Fijian cultural programme , food and activities are part of the after functions.
