Cook island is hosting the South Pacific Mini-Game next year, September 21 to Oct 2, 2009. , The only canoe association that will be allowed by the ASNOC to participate in the game is the "American Samoa Canoe Racing Association" (ASCRA). Tupu Pulu Malolo Outrigger canoe club president, “It’s great to have an opportunity to participate in the South Pacific Mini-Game in Cook Island this coming year 2009; I like to thanks the American Samoa National Olympic Committee –(ASNOC) for their hard work in helping all the sports and athletes to achieve its goal and potential in the mini-games, this is a great way for all young athlete to show their athletic skills."
