Ma'a Afi design

Yo Dudes, Just wanted to answer to the gentlemen( I hope) curious of the Ma'a Afi's design and strengths. Its strengths are smaller and large water thats more spread out, like channel conditions. Thats why Nick on only one practice day did so well in the Keokea Hurricane Invitational, which was epic 4-6 foot and screaming. Great for Kona or Catalina type conditions or Kaiwi Channel. It was intended to out perform what the WaveBlade/Polaris hull achieved, and that hull sold well. I believe it does this. It slides into ground swell much better and carries farther, because of the plaining effect of the triangulated flat spot. With the cross section as it is, its like a soft flat bottomed V, similar to K-1, it does really well in small conditions as well, blows the WB/Polaris hull. Its weakness is what the Vantage is so good at, the short frequency, short tack left to right, stuff. Dea Ya go, C Ya, Blyth
