This year's Hawaii Canoe and Kayak Team (HCKT) team that went to the United States Canoe Kayak Nationals competition was comprised of perhaps the most diverse group of student/athletes that represent the various ILH programs and canoe clubs from around the island.
Some members of the team traveled from various other canoe/kayak competitions (Russia, Nova Scotia) to represent Hawaii at Nationals that took place on Lake Lanier, Georgia. The competition was originally slated to be in Tennessee, but unforeseeable circumstances forced a change in venue for the competition and flight reservations had to be rerouted.
All in all, the team did well despite the challenges.
