Hui Ho'ola races for a cure

We are a racing team known by the name Hui Ho’ola. Talk about a race for the cure. How about 340 miles -- on a canoe -- for 60 straight hours -- all for Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

Beginning July 19, my racing partner Stephen Mahelona and I will paddle a Huki outrigger canoe to tackle the mighty Missouri River for 340 non-stop miles as we seek to raise awareness and funds for Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Stephen and I are entered into the 2011 Missouri River 340, the world’s longest non-stop river race, to make a contribution to a cause very close to Stephen.

Stephen's wife Stacie has undergone breast cancer treatment and surgery this past year, so we wanted to make a difference by racing and raising funds for the fight against breast cancer.

I want to entice all the OCPaddler community to visit our website at http://huihoola.weebly.com/ and consider making a donation.

We want to thank Jude at Huki for stepping up and joining our effort in a significant way. We promise to make do you proud on your canoe.

Thanks all,

Dan "Osprey" Grubbs
