This will be an intermediate to advanced clinic with lots of one way runs which you can use to help you prepare for the Kauai World Challenge Solo Relay. You must have prior ocean paddling experience. We will analyze and critique your technique , explain wave catching, and go over the race course and transitions. We’ll put all that knowledge to good use by doing practice runs along the race course so you will know all the spots to avoid and race the optimal course. We will try to throw in a North Shore run and may even include a Napali run if the water conditions are favorable.
The date for the 2016 Kauai World Challenge Solo Relay has not been set yet. The race is optional and not included in the clinic cost. If you do race you can use one of the canoes that were included in the clinic. If you would like to reserve a Pueo, Anteres, or Scorpius for the race then there will be a race rental charge for the canoe typically around $300usd.
The KWC is part of the Triple Crown race series. You might want to check out the Maui to Molokai race. We hold a M2M Prep Clinic on Maui with Kai Bartlett to prepare for this race.
