Trailers/Logistics for Kaua'i World Challenge Canoes (oc1, oc2. oc6)

2008 Kaua'i World Challenge is right around the corner. YMCA Kaua'i Hoe Wa'a is looking for representative(s) from each island to coordinate trailer/shipping logistics to get canoes to and from the islands before and after the Kaua'i World Challenge. If you know any individuals and/or canoe clubs with a trailer set up for OC1s and OC2s, and think they would be willing to help us coordinate shipping logistics, please have them call Butch Keahiolalo @ 808.635.0388 or email @ keahiolalo@aol.com. We have trucks that will pick up any canoe trailers that are sent to Kaua'i before May 8-11.

We realize many trailers will be going from island to island for Maui to Molokai, Manny's Molokai Solo, Molokai Relay, Kaua'i World Challenge, and Molokai Solo. We are looking at a way to make it easier for everyone involved especially international paddlers and those trying to get their canoes to 3 or 4 races in a row! If you are interested in coordinating a specific trailer, I could post your name and contact info on the Kaua'i World Challenge website and have those interested call you for pricing and logistics, etc. When your trailer is full...it's full. I would recommend some kind of tag/bag system to keep track of those canoes and where they are going. It's a great opportunity for someone or a canoe club to make some extra cash (fundraiser). I know I would pay extra knowing there was going to be a trailer after the Molokai Relay going to Kaua'i. I'm open to any ideas or thoughts that anyone has on this matter. Just trying to make it easier for everyone. Mahalo. Butch Keahiolalo
