Kaua'i World Challenge May 8-11

Attention Paddlers: Registration should be up and running this weekend. Format for event will be the same as last year. Thursday and Friday will be warm-up races. We will hold Thursday's race on the north shore (weather permitting) and therefore have opted to hold the race in the afternoon (2pm) so those of you flying in on Thursday have enough time to get to the race. Trailers that come in will be towed to Wailua River as in the past. Trailers will be utilized for warm-up races to ease the shuttling of cars/trucks. Friday's warm-up race will be on the east side weather permitting with an alternate course on the south side. Race will be at noon to allow everyone time to get to the Registration/Briefing/Dinner from 4-6pm Friday night. Saturday is the 34 mile relay race with awards/cash prizes at Salt Pond Beach Park. Yes, you heard me...cash prizes! I've heard rumors that there isn't any money. Well, if you think about those that are spreading that rumor...maybe they don't want you there...hmmm nice strategy! Sunday's race will be the Mother's Day OC6 race with mens, womens, and mixed divison. Canoes are limited so we are running 2 separate races so there is more participation. Look for more details in the near future on http://www.kauaiworldchallenge.com This is our 7th year! We look forward to an excellent turnout this year! Mahalo, Butch Keahiolalo
