Huki V1-Z Surfski-Outrigger Canoe Hybrid

Item Description:

This unique Huki "surfski-outrigger hybrid" was custom-built in 2005 by Jude. The idea was to create a surfski that was extra narrow, which would result in a particularly fast surfski. So Jude took the hull/deck of the V1-Z (which was under development at the time) and melded an S1-A surfski cockpit into it. Compared to the production V1-Z, The Prototype has slightly less rocker, bow volume, and the aforementioned S1-A cockpit. The result is "The Experimental Prototype". =)

It's been my training canoe and has proven to be a solid platform to learn 1-man paddling. You may be wondering how I paddled it as an OC1 with the surfski seat in it. I basically "MacGuyvered" a seat by using expanding foam to create a base that filled the "bowl" of the surfski seat. Then on top of that, I placed a 4" deep pad of mini-cell foam. In outrigger form, it paddles the same as any other OC1 does.

It's solid (as all Huki's are), does not leak a drop, has never been dropped, and shows little signs of wear.

Features:
- Huki V1-Z hull/deck
- Huki S1-A cockpit
- Upgraded 9" weedless rudder
- Flat water weedless rudder
- Moderate conditions ama
- Self-draining footwell
- Stubby iakos for storage
- Full Carbon layup

Do you paddle Outrigger and Surfski? This is a unique craft that does both! The cockpit is from an S1-A and is sized for persons around 5'10" in surfski form, but with a custom seat, you could size it for anyone taller or shorter within reason.

Located in Northern California and willing to deliver to SoCal as it would give me an excuse to visit family. =)
