Event Description:

11th Annual Hanohano Ocean Challenge Paddleboard,OC-1, Surfski, Kayak race hosted by Hanohano Outrigger Canoe Club with help from L&L
Hawaiian BBQ, Huki Outrigger / Surfski and Paddleme.com.

Short Course in Mission Bay approx 5 miles (includes junior divisions ages 8-18, paddleboard and stand-up paddleboard) Long Course open
ocean approx 9 miles. (Waterman Division… best combined time for both races each on different craft.;ie: short course paddleboard, long
course surfski…$5.00 additional entry fee required at registration. Please notify me of your intent to enter waterman / Waterwoman division.)

Entry fee: $15.00 includes breakfast, lunch, awards, 1 raffle ticket, and a t-shirt to the first 180 to register.

Great Raffle: (Dakine, Hansen’s Surfshop, Kialoa Paddles, Destination Surf, Patagonia) A portion of net proceeds will benefit San Diego
Coastkeeper.

Hawaii’s Patrick Dolan and Brandon Woods while at a national team training camp at the Olympic Training Center in San Diego took part in Surf Ski/OC1 race in La Jolla placing 1st and 2nd.

Hanohano Outrigger Canoe Club hosted another successful Surfski, Canoe, Kayak, Paddleboard race in Mission Bay, San Diego, California. Among the field of competitors from all paddling disciplines and walks of life were Olympic Kayakers a number of National level Canoeists and kayakers and Olympic hopefuls representing the San Diego Junior Olympic Program and Newport Aquatic center. The wind was blowing under clear skys for the approx 180+ paddlers to enjoy one of the few opportunities available for this type of competition in San Diego.
