Good day from Florida,
While everyone on the East Coast North of Florida dipped into a freezing Easter Weekend, St Pete, Florida delivered some spectacular weather for a great weekend of paddling. Saturday 7th April was the 5th and final race for the 2007 season. Mike Batell had the honors of organizing the event and he did an outstanding job of providing a great launch site, race course, lunch and most importantly great conditions.
I am posting this for Sheila Kuyper who is looking to put a push on for the sprints in Sacramento and wants to score a used Tevanui. She is near Toronto, but would travel to pick up or have delivered. Please contact her at [email protected]

A fantastic venue at Shells Restaurant on Clearwater Beach proved to be very popular with 30 Surfskis and Outrigger canoes showing up to race, This was probably the biggest entry of Surfskis in a long time numbering 14 in total.

Good Day all Florida Paddlers,
Miami delivered spectacular weather for the 2nd race of the Florida
Ocean Paddling Series. The only item missing was wind.
The location that Tim Streeter organized on Virginia Key was perfect,
crystal clear water and a great beach. Excellent parking and facilities
all round. Thanks Tim !
The course utilized existing marker buoys providing easy navigation for
the 7 mile race.
I am looking for a couple of new or used (preferably used) OC-6s' to start up a new paddling program in Groton Connecticut. I don't care where the boats come from just keep in mind we are on the East Coast of the U.S. and transporting maybe the biggest obsticle.
Please contact me ASAP we are trying to get the boats on the Thames river by April 2007.
Big Mahalos!

The Sunshine State really delivered for the 36 entrants of OC1, OC2, Surfski 1 and 2 man as well as paddleboarders. It was a picture perfect day, 76 deg, sunshine, 10 to 15 knots of Northerly wind. Small shore break and beautiful bump to ride.
