Hi All,

This new type of multi-sport event, dubbed a "triathlon without wheels", was conceived by Thibert Lussiaa a year ago. The challenge consists of a 1/2 mile swim and 2 mile run followed by either a 3 mile paddleboard or a 4 mile outrigger canoe/surfski race.

• Notes: The Puna Canoe Club 2003 Regatta was run on a beautiful Hilo day. Despite a strong push by Kawaihae, Puna and Kamehameha, Kai Opua took the top spot with 157 points. Kai E Hitu Canoe Club's youth crews had a strong showing. On Saturday, July 5, the Moku O Hawaii Regatta season stays in Hilo for the fourth consecutive week for the Kai E Hitu Regatta.

North East Outrigger dominated the 2003 7th Annual Liberty World Challenge taking first in Women's and Men's Open and the Sr. Masters divisions. Europe was well represented with a strong showing by France, Germany, and the UK. Washington D.C. won the mixed division with amazing stealth moves between pylons and under piers to snatch the gold away from New York Outrigger. The full race results will be posted shortly.
