Held for the 13th year at Keauhou Bay, this long distance race was the vision of Auntie Mary Jane Kahanamoku to fill the puka in the regatta season caused by High School graduations. Three years ago, the format for the event was changed to all mixed (coed) crews consisting of 3 women and 3 men in each canoe.

Wow! Three races completed in the ECORA OC-1/2 series so far and great weather for each one. Hopefully the streak will continue.

Results from the second ECORA one-man series race, Buckroe Beach Dash or Splash in Hampton, VA held on May 13, 2006. The Dash or Splash is an 8K run and a 7 mile OC-1/OC-2 race. They are separate events so you don't have to do both races but we usually have several hardy paddlers who do the 8K run and the canoe race. The race proceeds are donated to Disabled Sports USA Wounded Warrior Program. DS/USA.
