ILH Canoe Racing

Filed in

I read an article by Ron Mizutani in the Star Bulletin on Monday about how the DLNR has made the ILH canoe racing association change their finish line to offshore instead of at the mouth of the Ala Wai harbor. He went on to say that you can barely see the race because it is a distance race that is held about a 1/4 mile offshore. The viewing platform is the seawall at the Aina Moana lagoon where there is standing room only. I thought the subject of the finish line to be strange because the Coast guard memorial race finish line was at the last pole in the harbor. At that race there were hundreds of racers (sup,oc1,oc2) participating in that great event. So what's up Laura, "No aloha for the keiki".
