Race day schedule update.

A short clinic has been added on the morning of the race. This will provide a brief overview of how to paddle and/or steer a V-1 canoe. Novice paddlers are encouraged to come early and get some boat time before racing. Everyone is welcome to attend but this will be specifically geared towards getting new adults and children up to speed. Novice adults will have the choice of paddling either the course around Chinaman's Hat or within Kane'ohe Bay.

Please remember, registration must be done online while race fees and waivers are to be taken care of on race day.

Schedule for September 12th:

Check in, race dues and waivers 7-9
Clinic 8-9
Open Men heat 1 10:00
Open Men heat 2 11:00 (or earlier)
Novice and 15 and under 12:00
Open Women/18 and under 1:00

ATTENTION!!! Due to permitting issues the course has changed!

We will still be racing out of Kualoa Beach Park. Racing will take place at the main beach park. Start and Finish are to the north of the breakwater protecting the point closest to Chinaman's Hat. Still a fun run and you will still get to paddle "around the hat".

Everything else stays the same. Schedule, divisions, etc. All races are one lap with men's final of two laps. Novice division will run a triangle course in between the beach and Chinaman's Hat. Winds are forecasted to be variable so the water should be beautiful for Children and Adults. See the new map which I have attached. Just wanted to get something out there to keep all paddlers informed.

By the way, registered paddler count is up to 68!

Sorry for the typos, but you guys get the idea....

This is an interesting event seeing that the course is kinda tough. Water current will obviously affect the event but its part of the game. A player must have his game preparation and strategy for this. Well you could try here if you want tips for the said event.
