bondo or fiber glass

does bondo or fiberglass resin work as a filler for oc1. not necessarily for repairs but for filling dents. we are trying to repair a polaris the nose craked all the way around and was repaired. during repair the seam in the front 18" was filled. we were wanting to fill the rest of the seam to match the first 18" of the boat. we are planning to repaint the whole canoe with auto paint. bondo might be easier and cheaper that epoxy or fiberglass. any thoughts?

Bondo use to absorb moisture, so I don't use it. Maybe they re-formulated it so it won't? So I just use a mixture of West Marine epoxy and Thicksil.

you have to repair it with fiber glass and epoxy first then sand it and use bondo to make nice and smooth and blend it in. i did several onemans that way and used car paint as well and it still going strong 4 years later..
