you can go on any course you want. Over the reef through the surf, whatever you want. Its not the fairest thing to do, especially if someone knows a secret route because they live in that area. I think they do it so they don't have to follow everyone to make sure they all go the same way, i.e. (costs more for extra official boats).

That phrase is contradictory in terms, in the jungle there is no rules.

I can think of one jungle rule for paddling: Don't get off the boat.
