Not Related to Outrigger but You Might Enjoy

I coach and paddle for the LA Racing Dragons, a dragon boat team out of Long Beach, CA. Many of our paddlers, including myself, also paddle oc1 and oc6.

Here's a video I think most of you will enjoy of the Comp A Mixed Finals in San Francisco this past weekend.

Our caller and steersman were outfitted with headcams.

Nice job with the three cameras! It makes for a pretty dramatic video and probably a great de-brief for your crew.

Great job with the filming and editing. Too bad its of dragon boating. Effectivepull, you realize how people feel about dragon boating around here right?

It's way too close to Molokai to be posting DB vids.

I liked the video...good job. I always wanted to see how DB is done. Now I know.

Yup, I bet outrigger paddlers feel the same way about dragon boat as rowers do about paddlers. Sad.

That being said, outrigger paddlers do cross over and race dragon boats. And dragon boaters also paddle outrigger. Ever been to Long Beach and see all the V1-Xs owned by dragon boaters?

One love.

hmmm I don't wanna tell you what we think of the v1-x here on OCP....

Great video and congratulations!

What cracks me up is that the official boat has to ask boats to move forward at the starting line. Not a problem here in Hawaii.... way not a problem! know how many times my mind was screaming "hut ho" while watching that race?!

I think I'd slap the guy with the drum until he turns around and grabs a paddle :-)

Rumor has it Goto rowed in college and is planning on paddling the Moloka'i Hoe with a DB paddle…

Poo, you seem to be a very nice person. I would hope you are one hell of a good paddler - or you have big cans.

Correction anowara: goto did used to row in college, but he's going to be STEERING the Channel with a DB paddle.

Effectivepull - good job. All paddling is great and it is great to cross train. Dragon boating is tough and many people from dragon boating paddle OC1 or would like to. Poopoopaddler is in the minority so plz disregard his weak comments. He doesn't get it. I think C1 paddlers are extreme- would love to see some of the C1 Olympians on OC1's-just another great paddling discipline. They would blow everyone away in flat water.Keep sending the great content!
