Hello,
I was just wondering if the rule still stands that paddles have to be at least 50% wood for Hawaiian races.

Aloha oc - girl,
The paddle rules for Queen Lili`uokalani are taken from HCRA and Moku O Hawaii association race rules.
They also apply to the HCRA state championships, Na Wahine o ke Kai and Molokai Hoe.
Basically, the paddles must have wood in them, but can have a protective coating of fibrous materials and have laminated fibrous materials also.
This rule is for the Saturday races, Sunday pretty much anything goes.
Hope this helps.
