Get a rack and add the Burnham Single Shell Rack System, it lets you adjust the cradles anywhere along the 8' rail to meet your need. I added the Burnham rack system to my Tahoe rack to get the perfect mount spread for my boat.
I will post a picture tomorrow. http://www.burnhamboatslings.com/BurnhamSite/front.html
Not my picture but here is the Burnham used on a BMW with great results.
I have the Thule Slipstream rack extender and I use Yakima Mako Aero saddles. It works extremely well and I’ve had no problems at 80mph+. The Mako saddles have really good flex and the Slipstream allows for a nice (almost 6 foot) spread between the saddles.
I probably would have bought the Burnham, but I could never get in touch with the guy who sells it.

I like the fit and finish of the EZ-Vee from Kayak Pro - same concept as the slipstream / burnham etc..

With the Burnham slings, if you are carrying an OC-1, are the narrow slings (14") wide enough, or do you use the wide slings (19")?
Thanks!

Narrow slings for the Burnham.

Narrow for sure, see the 3rd pic above, and the great thing about the Burnham cradles is that they are slings and not a solid bar.

Thanks guys... now I just need the boat ;>

Yeah, the narrow sling is the one. Works just fine even with an OC-2.
