A young 25 year old man Luke Evslin a Kauai native was seriously injured during the Molokai Hoe canoe race Sunday October 10, 2010 when he was accidently run over by his crew's escort boat. Luke remains in stable condition at Maui Memorial Medical Center. This poem is for him and his family and friends. Every person everyday around the world we all live the same not knowing whether anything could happen to us at any moment. To live the life is living in each and every moment whether full of excitement and happiness or shockingly grieved with physical trauma and emotional sadness. Time and unforeseen occurrences are what befalls us all with prayer God's help time heals all wounds. Only after being properly diagnosed by medical professionals and learning who can provide the best possible treatment a Maui Medical team of three surgeons' worked together to restore Luke Evslin. We can take our time and send positive loving messages and prayers of wellness to reinforce Luke Evslin his family and friends. Luke Evslin will recover quicker with positive loving reinforcement and the best surgeons doctors and medicine possible. We all must pull together be strong especially thru times of distress and sadness we are on the same team called togetherness we pray for hero Luke Evslin and family. Together we all reevaluate our priorities and realize there are still blessings. According to Luke that is exactly what he did after his traumatic injury during the hour long rough boat ride to Molokai for more emergency medical treatment. Living life according to Luke Evslin we are grateful he is alive. Like him we are counting our blessings every day. Together we release relax and let go for tomorrow will take care of itself strength and wellness to Luke Evslin a true hero who is inspiring us all. Aloha and mahalo Kauaicr07 Kauaicc96 Coolwater00.

Oh! Man; this is a very tragic thing to happen out at sea. I'm impressed with the emergency action that sprung into motion to save Luke. What an outstanding job. With all the pain he is going through, I admire his attitude, and I wish him speedy recovery.
