I lived in Florence last year and paddled here:

http://www.canottiericomunalifirenze.it/

They are the only place in Florence that has outrigger canoes, although their OC-1s are about twenty years old and weigh sixty pounds. The club's kind of far from the old city (a half hour walk from Piazza della Signoria), on the Oltrarno (south) side of the river.

There are a couple people there who speak English, but unless your Italian is good I would email ahead and ask if anyone can help you out.

Then again if you're only going for a week you should be looking for restaurant recommendations, not paddling ones!

Have a fun and safe trip. Let me know if you need any other information.

you may have a hard time finding anyone to paddle with during that time span...

all eyes will be on the Azzurri!
