The beach where our club Marina del Rey Outrigger in Los Angeles launches from is being surrounded by development. One particular development across the street will take over the existing parking with condos. Their proposal is to have additional parking a 1/4 mile away. This will affect not only our club, but many other rowers, kayakers, SUP's, and other recreational boaters, since this beach is the primary launch site for most of Los Angeles.
We have been in this process for the last 4 years, and they are aware that we are informed and organized. The next step for them is to change the zoning of the property (which currently forbids development). We have an upcoming planning hearing and are spreading the word to get a petition going.

not sure if it's too late, but you guys may want to consider contacting your local chapter of the Surfrider Foundation. there may or nay not be surf breaks near by, but the Surfrider Foundation often seems willing to get involved with situations that could adversely affect beach access and/or water quality in the area.
are out of state signatures usable?

jc, yeah we have feelers out to Surfrider- this will be an easy win for them... out of state sigs are not as impactful as local sigs, but let them sort through it... we have plenty of local sigs, more the merrier. thx
