PFD...

The hull does not have a USCG identification number .. but does the fact that you sit-on-it still tag you as a criminal if you do not have a PFD? ... the ankle leash makes more sense to a waterman but does the DNR simply see you as a scofflaw? Any examples out East? ... I'd expect the Islands to treat these matters more realistically...

Got a copy of Maryland rules - PFD required for sure. Some of the other items for vessel over 16' include Daytime distress signal, etc. I hope they forgive me for not carrying a Fire Extinguisher...

Here in Seattle, I've never been stopped for not having a PFD, but they're definitely making the SUPs wear them.
