Hey!!! I remember the time Kala Judd lined up at the start of race in a Mantra OC-1 without an ama and iako. He was paddling it with a double bladed wing paddle. That must of been about 10 years ago? Eventually, that OC-1 spunned off the Karel built Matrix ski.

Koa, there is vintage video footage (year 2000) of the Matrix in action across the Kaiwi to support your statement ... J

Like a Fenn Millenium?

Twogood already done that with the original Fenn. It was fairly common to go that route (ski to oc-1) about 20 years ago, and perhaps some of the latest oc-1s today stil carry the genes from them old skis (try guess which ones)? Some even put ama and iako on Olympic k-1s for race in the ocean and Ala Wai. Maybe the Kamanu crew can equip up one old vintage Puakea Hawk K-1 with ama and iako for a test run against their V-1? Of course leave off the rudder.
