Can any one tell me what "paddle as one" would be in Hawaiian?

paddle as one could refer to as united as one to move forward. its a saying we used for our club shirt seasons back.

pupukahi i holomua - united as one to move forward

it could also be used in the NBA with the cavs as if they dominate with shaq in the post. shooting guards on the perimeter. allowing man to man coverage. which allows lebron free access to the bucket, double team lebron which leads a pass to the outside for a nice 3pt shot or hit shaq in the middle. how easy

Lokahi as in Lokahi Canoe Club.

C'mon Shurlock...it's back to Bean town now and LeBron's injured. Shaq can't even dominate Kendrick Perkins anymore.

I've sent some melaluca oil for him to put on his elbow. He'll be fine. Sorry for the thread jack.

I think thread jacking is fair game in these parts. Melaleuca, eh? I'll have to try some next time the tendonitis flairs up.

okay, I have been told that 'ekahi' represents it all, can someone confirm this for me??

If I am not mistaken, "ekahi" means one...as in the number one.

ekahi = 1
elua =2
ekolu =3
eha =4
elima =5

melaleuca oil is only a disinfectant. what he needs is goanna ointment.

I thought the term was lauhoe: to paddle together and uniformly

Vegemite rubbed in twice a day. No need to kill Goanna's for their oil then ...hehehe

with much help of a book of Hawaiian paddling proverbs ( compiled by Tay Perry)

"Ho'okahi ka 'ilau like ana" - "wield the paddles together, work together"

there is another one, which translates as "paddle together as one, until the shore is reached" but i'll be darned if i can find it..

hope that helps
