7 Pacific Voyaging Canoes Arrive at Kualoa Sat. 6/25

Te Mana o Te Moana

This Saturday we will welcome the seven voyaging canoes of the Pacific Voyager Fleet to our shores. Sailing together as part of Te Mana o Te Moana, these vessels represent Tahiti, Samoa, the Cook Islands, Fiji, and Aotearoa. The canoes are sailing under the auspices of the Okeanos Foundation which is dedicated to the preservation of the world’s oceans and marine life. More information about the foundation and the seven canoes can be found at (http://www.pacificvoyagers.org/voyage). Their journey to our home is an honor of the highest order and our obligation and duty is to appropriately acknowledge that honor.

Many of us have had the good fortune to sail with H?k?le‘a to these islands where both our crews and our canoe were cared for and accepted as family. We learned that the values of aloha and m?lama live and thrive throughout the South Pacific.
