F#£& Windfinder & windguru!

Keep on looking at the reports for wind for the Molo Solo. The dam thing keep changing. Come on everyone let's all flap our arms and blow so we can at least get 10-15 E winds. God please let there be wind, east wind!

Nope. Just 5 mph east winds so it feels even hotter.

Hoping the winds stay light so when I paddle my rudderless out to watch the finishers it's fun for me.

So why did they change the date of the solo, before when it was in May, it was always windy, but now that it's earlier, its always a toss up.

To my understanding the date in May was with the original Surfski Solo race. PA'A came about and it was moved to April to not conflict with the original race. This allowed both races to have enough escort boats to support the entrants.

Go to Surf News Network, they are always optimistic.

Too bad the solo isn't on Lake Mead today. Winds are cranking an the water is white capping. Perfect for downwindering.

Strait of Juan De Fuca would be mean, too.

@Jim, how often does it run north that strong? Try and race the car ferry with that much wind!!

All the time. One year we had small craft advisory for the entire month of November. I did a run a couple months ago when it had 50kt gusts and 4-6 ft seas. It's like a really big lake...it's starts to get good at about 25kts. That's when I call jc9er for some downwindering northwest style.

hmmm. the guru has had a change of heart, windfinder and other sources still say variables. interesting.

EDIT: it's back to 3-5 mph. My bad.
