Ive been noticing that you buy makana alii paddles then sell them right back to paddlers for higher than normal prices. Then you claim to say that you need the money so you are selling your paddles, then a week later you are trying to buy another one. You have post as derrickliu and now you changed your name to ineedmakana. your number is the same as the past post that are still posted. Stop trying to rip off paddlers buy buying peoples paddles and selling for more. We are all one family. mahalo

A paddler probally sold him a Makana in "good faith", being young & eager, trying to help him out. He is trying to make a profit when someone helped him out to begin with.

2 friends respinded to his CL ad for his Makana Alii. He would NOT respond to phone # given to him by eager buyers. Seller would do a Ebay like bid between both guys, all by email. Last I heard, he was accepting offers of $260.00 or higher.
I pitty the time when he does a "buying my first OC1" thread . This website scored me my first OC1 at a great price by a fellow paddler that could of sold that OC1 for at least $400 more, but took care & helped me out as a "noob" to OCP-

im sorry, but i think you guys have me mistake for someone else, im paying $280+ for this paddle, i pretty sure this is more then what they normally are and i dont think i could sell it for more, just to make a profit. arnt they like 235$ new?

At Hui Nalu's Kala Kukea race we had a new Makana Alii for auction and it went for a hefty premium over what is offered by Les. The guy wanted the paddle and wanted it now....not in 6 or more months...(Plus for a good cause...and great of Les to donate it).. This Derrick guy comes on wanting this and selling this and buying something else and then selling the something else. "I need the money ". Glad someone called him on it....ineedmakana or derrickliu or whoever you are....get out a here !

I'm new to the forum, and think I almost got caught by the same scam. A guy on here called derrickliu was asking a lot of $ for his makana alii. He claimed to be 15yrs old and needed the cash to take his girlfriend to the prom. I fell for it and even offered him $50 more than his asking price as I felt that a young kid needing to sell a makana alii must really need the cash! He ended up not answering the phone or returning emails.
