Jon Emmerson contacted me re; changing the date of the coastal relay to the weekend of the Kala Kukea Challenge that Hui Nalu sponsors that being April 23rd. We decided that it would be best if he ran the Coastal Relay on Sunday to not be in conflict with our clubs already scheduled Kala race. Thus he would have the Coastal on Sunday April 24, without a short course and we would encourage those who were planning to race the short course to race in the Kala Kukea Challenge. Hope this helps to clarify what I believe is the plan.

Just FYI that is the same weekend as Maui to Molokai OC-1 & OC-2 Solo/Relay Race

Yeah why did they change it to that weekend. I thought it was fine having it next weekend. I already had my flight back from big island for it, now i just wasted a flight

I think that it would be better to have it before the solo and the relay. If you think about it, it is the same time as the Maui to Molokai and after the solo. I'm just saying i think there will be a bigger turn out if you had it on the original day, then to have everyone going to Maui and no one left to do the coastal....just saying

Damn, somehow missed that one. Thought it was the weekend before the Surfski Molokai to Oahu. It used to be that weekend. Although same weekend, at least it is on a different day than the Maui to Molokai.....

I would much rather do the Maui to Molokai than the coastal relay. I was planning on doing the relay until the date was changed. maybe it can be changed back?

What was the original date? I can't find the date on Kanaka Ikaika's website or Hui Nalu's.

Update on divisions:
There will be a cruiser division.
For OC-1 and Surfski: up to 4 people, any gender, any age. Even if you have a mixed crew, or have young or old, there will be no actual division for mixed or age groups. One category.
For OC-2: up to 8 people, any gender, any age. Even if you have a mixed crew, or have young or old, there will be no actual division for mixed or age groups. One category.
