How is there no updates? This kinda sucks. The conditions are not ideal, that is for sure. Go Torrey and Bren, Go Jane McKee! All the updaters are on the water today.

Surely someone must be doing media coverage of some sort?
I'd love to cover it video wise and the Solo, but i'm 9 hrs away by jet.

The entire Mooloolaba Masters/Senior Masters 9 man crew are doing the race as OC2 relays as well as other non locals, so there is a global interest in this race. It's disappointing there is no reporting.

How can you promote the race if there is no basic media coverage. Even COVER - IT LIVE
http://www.coveritlive.com/index.php?option=com_altcaster&task=listlivee...
which is a live chat text based update webpage that iphone video and stills can be posted on (like used by www surfski dot info) would suffice.

no updates, no live media coverage, no nothing! sad, and we wonder why canoe paddling in hawaii isn't as big a deal as in tahiti. if the solo and the relay had a live tv special, the sport would get a lot more people interested in the sport. oc-16 should've picked up the ball on this one, they broadcast local highschool sports live but neglect to televise the solo/relay with local, national and international paddlers is lame.

I'll try contact a few support boat followers by phone and see if i can get some updates.

It's all about the all mighty dollar. Need a return on the
investment.

Here's a video mid channel of John Foti on the Helium OC1 from todays relay. Looks like there are some bumps around.

Wow! Wind AND swell AND it's all going in the generally desired direction... What a concept! Already better than both the Catalina relay and molo solo.
Thank you for that!

Sorry i wasn't able to get onto the support boats, i had 4 numbers on separate boats but nothing was prearranged so looks like the phones were left off. The Oc2's would have been close to the leaders too so would have been ideal, but then again they all take different routes.

Phones many have been off and/or phone coverage in the channel can be scattered at best.

Ocean Paddler TV was ready and willing to cover and support the race... The final decision of having an official race coverage is not made by Ocean Paddler TV. We hope that in the future we will be able to bring the Molo Solo and Relay the media coverage they deserve, so our local, national and international audience can enjoy them on TV or live on the web.
In fact Ocean Paddler's host Kala'i Miller paddled the race today.
