Why would the lettering on his jersey be backwards at the 8 second mark? I think they just flipped the video frames for some reason. Maybe to keep continuity in direction of movement?
Two screenshots flipped horizontally to show the effect.
Yeah, I thought of that after I posted when I realized the Pueo can't even be rigged on the right. Just means I need to work on the detecting the nuances of internet postings more.
looks like a top-notch production! Can't wait to see the final product. Mahalo for keeping us posted, Luke. Videos like that keep us motivated up here in the chilly and damp northwest...we are having the rainiest spring of all time! That's why Joe is making those grumpy posts.
Hi, I don't know the pueo, and am quite interested by the ama shape.
It seems straight, with very little rocker and high volume, opposed to banana shaped - and more common - ama.
May I have some feedback from users ?
The ideal would be someone paddling both sets : oc with pueo like ama, and oc with banana ama.
The Pueo ama is just one the many amazing design innovations to come from Keizo and the Kamanu crew. Naysayers will dismiss my comment as Kamanu lovin', but frankly you run out of superlatives to describe their designs, and the ama is one of the best, IMO. And how bout that new canoe? Pure Genius!
Is it a case of reversed footage, or is there at least one canoe rigged with ama on the right hand side?

I saw that too. Right at the 28 second mark.

Also at 8 seconds.
My whole world imploded for a second when I saw that. Then I realized that Danny must have just rigged his ama on the right.

I know. I was kidding. I saw the video 500 times and didn't realize until it was pointed out to me.
