Hi all,
just a question to those of you familiar with the iakos for a Force Five Canoe. Our front iako broke and now we need to have a new one made... Front and back iako are build the same. We are using a 1 3/4 inch wedge with the high part facing the ama. We need that so the ama does not plow. Does anybody have any idea on how to incorporate the effect of the wedge into the design of the iako?! This setup works for most of our crews and we do not rerigg for heavier crews. The wedge is not ideal and I thought it would be nice to have an iako build where we do not need a wedge or at least only a small one to accomodate for different conditions and crews.. any thoughts are appreciated.

Either build the base of the Iako 2" thicker than normal and then plane an inch and 1/2 to nothing off the starboard side or alter the curve of the Iako to give you the extra kick up.
