there was an article in the advertiser. in the paper they were saying state rules are that once the sun sets on the day of states all results are ruled final. since the scoring error was found in the days after the regatta the results stand as originally scored.

Personally...all this stuff about regattas and club versus club is really fun and good for everyone...all ages, mixed, kane or wahine, all age groups. But lets face it ...the best versus the best is still the premier event and should be scored accordingly.
Wailea could have changed the whole scenario. kai is worth a few or more seconds in any canoe's time.
a win is a win if a crew could have been stronger because one person then that crew should have used them if they didn't thats their problem. better luck next year.
agreed. and the Lanikai canoe club with an awesome senior men's crew may also agree.... good to see the clubs so close where seconds in one race or another can make a difference. Guess I have watched too many olympics track and field...but have to say watching the men's senior events over the last number of years....they are awesome. Maybe a suggestion for HCRA because I bet they have no rule in case of a tie...if there is a tie between clubs....the scores in the men's seniors will be doubled. Surely better then a coin toss or waiting until the sun comes down.
