OC-1 Paddle-Best type

What is everyones thaughts on the best paddle for OC-1 and how much shorter is prefered from your OC-6 paddle?

I have found it depends on how low the OC-1 sits in the water and your weight. For example, a Pahoa and Scorpious XM sit low in the water and I use a 51 compared to my usually 52 in a six man. When I paddled my Stingray and now Pueo they sit a little higher and I like a 52. That is for me. Go with what feels good and mix it up.

Makana ali'i is the best choice. One inch shorter then 6 man blade.

Kai Ko'o Paddles --- a local outfit deep in Southern Cal that's coming up right now.

I've logged about 30 miles between v1 and oc1 with mine and am loving every stroke. super solid design/worksmanship. here's a couple pics from their shop:

Started to use the Pure Paddles OC1 paddle recently - it rocks!

As for length, as others have suggested, for OC1 I've gone an inch shorter than my OC6 paddle and that length seems to be just right.

I agree with Salty Dog... the paddles made by Kai Ko'o are awesome!
I've had mine for about five months now and it has felt great in all conditions whether on my OC-1 or in OC-6... the shape and angle of their double-bend is amazingly comfortable on even the longest paddles and the catch is clean & strong.
Also, got it for a great price ($180) which, for the quality, is quite a steal.
If you don't know 'em, then check them out

Full carbon Puakea slight double bend, goes in the water smooth like butter. One inch shorter than OC6 blade.

I use a 58" Grey owl paddle no T-top so I can jump from 1 to 6 in a OC6 and take off my rudder and steer my OC1.
