Kailua Beach CleanUp Race UPDATE!!!!

Kanaka Ikaika has decided that the Kailua Beach Cleanup race should be a community service event, hence, we have changed the race to be a FREE keiki/Junior race starting at 9:00am followed by a group paddle for adults (no fee) in Kailua Bay lead by Jim Foti. We will have a short and a long kids race (longer than the posted course - weather pending the actual route).

Our mission is to clean Kailua Beaches and particularly bring awareness to the micro-plastic problem. Don’t forget this is a waste free event so bring your cups and/or mugs for coffee, lemonade and water. We will also provide all kid racer participants with a snack pack and medals following the race. We will still have registration for keiki and the beach cleanup (and free coffee) at Kalama Beach. If you already registered, we will refund your money. Sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused but please still come join us for a fun day at the beach!

Come to KALAMA BEACH PARK from 7:00 - 9:00 for free coffee and New Zealand Apples (Mahalo to ENZA), and come help clean the beach. Kids race starts at 9:00 at Kailua Beach behind Kalapawai, and will finish at Kalama. Kokua Hawaii's Plastic Free Hawaii will also have a cleanup from 9:00 - 11:00 at Kailua Beach across from Buzz's. Bring the kids early to register so they can also help clean before they race! AND registered cleanup participants get free hotdogs after the second cleanup. Details at Kalama beach. Then after the kids race we go on a good paddle that will suit all levels.
