Drone Paddling footage

I didn't want to hijack the "Na Wahine Ikaika prize money" thread but that drone footage from Keizo is awesome! I've been playing around w/ less expensive "quad copters" before chunking down a bundle for a nice one that might end up in the drink! Was the pilot/photographer of the drone in a boat in the vicinity of the paddlers? This kind of footage really adds another dimension to a race and paddling video.

I was at diamond head lookout. But I've done a lot from escort boats too.

How big were the conditions that day? From the air it looked like those ladies were getting some good rides in.

Great video. I wonder how much wind a drone can handle? I'd love to see aerial footage of big surf runs.

PS: For those who missed the link posted by Keizo in the other discussion, here it is

On the video it looks like the drone can handle 40+ mph winds. Looks like everyone is averaging over 14 mph. They probably did that Hawaii Kai run in 38 minutes or less.

Right Kileki?
