I own a Hurricane oc1 and cannot attach the I' ako's to the ama in the higher slots without the I'ako's slipping out.of the ama. Attaching them further down in the slot works. However, I cannot balance the canoe properly with this problem. Is there a fix to this problem or will I have to replace the ama? The I'ako's are fairly new.

Yes, buy a new ama/iakos because the grooves are worn.Or, use tape on the iakos to make them snug in the receiver tube(usually a wrap or two). Be mindfull of the tape though as it gets really gummy over time.

carry some inner tube rubber with you in case they fly out whilst paddling
