What set up do you have for carrying a back up paddle? Anything besides attaching to rear iako? I saw a guy with it mounted behind the seat on the deck, but not sure what was using to fasten it.

Iako close to you. Get some bike tire rubber and strap it down. Alway carry extra paddle when racing. aloha

Some OC1's such as the Wai Nui and Hiko had a plastic bracket on the back deck to hold a spare paddle. The bracket held the the paddle shaft near the top and the blade went under the bungie behind the seat/rear iako.
I just use two tarp bungies to strap my spare paddle to my rear iako. The same two bungies I use to keep my iakos together when I de-rig my canoe.
