Great Site!

Just recently got into paddling after being sucked in by friends. I've been around and known good paddlers for years but never even thought of getting into it. Been to busy doing other sports and hobbys. Now I'm hooked! Just picked up a new OC1. More toys???!

Caught some fun waves and been fishing (Hence the name StinkFinger) and having a blast. Next step is the open ocean bumps.... Hopefully I can make some good connections with my spare tire and tounge dragging in the water...... :D

1st post in the books. StinkFinger has arrived. K-den...

hey stinkfinger, everyone always gets hooked. paddling is awesome. Welcome to the forum.

... what do you catch? Do people every fish on long runs? I don't fish, but seems like you might hook something bigger than you want. :o

Thanks for the welcome.

I just started with the canoe but I used to be heavy into surfboard fishing then kayak fishing. I usually catch Omilu or other various Papios and reef fish. Occasional big ones and some bottom feeders in sand areas. Tomorrow morning we're gonna do a run. I'll see if I can get some pics....

Yeah, sharks are there. I had my fair share of run-ins and close calls but came out OK. Big Tigers are the worst. If I see one, I'm outta there. I don't want to be a meal. They WILL take you out. I do feel a little safer with my OC1 over my surfboard or kayak. I think the whole set up doesn't look as tasty from below but who knows......

Went today and my friend caught a 2+ pound Omilu and I white washed.... The water was crystal clear and flat like a lake. My friend also saw 2 sharks near his canoe. Sunday we're gonna do a long morning run in a very productive area. Hopefully I can get Stink Finger...

This term has referred to a good day of catching fish for years. It soon made its way into the dating scene... :D This probably goes back to cave man days.

"Unk-Unk. Sniff-sniff... Oooook stink finger.."
