[b]I don't know what the offical rule is, but I paddle in the marina all the time OC-1 and OC-6, I don't have a sticker on my OC-1, I have not been hassled yet. (KNOCK ON WOOD) I would say paddle, paddle, paddle..

I lived in Hawaii Kai for most of my life and lived right on the Marina. All vessels that ply the waters of the marina need to be registered and have a valid sticker on it, including canoes. If you haven't gotten sited yet, it's because you haven't been caught yet. There is a Marina Patrol that patrols the marina to make sure all rules and regulations of the marina are properly adhered to. The canoe's you see in there without a sticker is risking it. But I'm sure they make an exception for sanctioned events. I don't know what the fine is for using the marina without a sticker. If I'm not mistaken, even Hui Nalu canoe club that uses the marina for training has to have stickers on their canoes. I could be wrong because I don't live there any longer but you can find out from the Koko Marina Association office.

I paddled in there a couple of times, and I finally got caught. Marina patrol did come by us and asked to see our stickers. We played dumb and said that we had no idea. He just said "don't let me catch you again". So we don't paddle there anymore. And I did see the stickers on the Hui Nalu canoes. Sad to see people complaining about everyone who just want to PADDLE.
