Re: repairs

I own a Hybrid Carbon made Kaku Elua and have noticed that the hull has softened up and caves in to the touch causing it to take in water. There are a lot of stress cracks and needs to be repaired. Any suggestions on what I can do or use to do the repairs myself ? I only weigh in at 150# and live in AZ and have it covered with a Sunbrella 100% of the time, could it be because of the 100 plus degree weather that is causing these cracks?

did you buy it new? how old is it? Call and see if they'll repair it/fix it/replace it. my experience is Kaku stands behind their work. If it's a problem on their end i'm sure they'll deal with it. definitely let them know.

Mahalo haoleboy for da info! I bought this Kaku Elua used and its maybe about 3 years old now. I will contact John Puakea as I had bought my first Kaku from him when he first started building them in Costa Mesa. Paddle on!

I have a similar problem with my craft which is made of polyester resin, I think. It was handled badly recently and now has a section that is relatively soft when pushed. It is not taking water. Should I get involved in a repair before using it further. And if so How does one go about such a task.
