I know you have new pedals coming, but in the future they just need to be lubricated. I had the same problem. :)

OC Springer: I have the same problem on mine and can't work any lubricant into the pivot joint. The distributor is sending me a replacement. Any tips on how the replacement went for you, feel free to share :)

Can you post the distributor information re: obtaining new pedals. I would assume this is a problem for all the canoes in the same batch and many would benefit from the information. Many mahalos.

I have not installed the new pedals as of yet and am waiting for the weather to get a little warmer so in the mean time I sprayed the pins ,that the pedals move on , w/ WD-40 and worked it back and forth numerous times and sprayed and repeated until the creeking is now finally gone .I did notice a light rust colouring forming on the pins so this may be causing the problem .

I will try to post a how to on here after I do it .

I got my canoe from the Hurricane distributor for my area, he's in Southern California. www.oc6unlimited.com. He's sending me replacement pedals and has been very helpful in getting my problem resolved.

I'm not sure where the other distributors are located for other areas of the US.
