switch the schedules

I was just thinking...
In Hawai'i the trades are stronger and more consistent in the summer, right? I think everyones sick of flat one man winter races every season, and for regattas you don't want wind.. so why not switch the schedules around. Reggattas starting in November and ending in like February, with the six man long distance starting in February and ending with Molokai in May. Then one man season starts in Julyish, and goes until the solo in October. Also that way the millions of high school kids that are paddling right now (there must have been thirty canoes paddling out of the ala wai yesterday) could just get fed right into reggattas and long distance, instead of having this huge break and quitting paddling.
I guess the only problem--- and this is a major problem--- if it's getting dark at 6:30 that makes it kinda hard to practice six man.... darn-- it could still work though.

That is one of the best ideas I have heard on this site. Good Thinking.
